Thanks for all the info, y'all. I knew there had to be a motorcycle shop or two in Alamogordo. My pride and joy is a 1984 Honda V65 Sabre...I've already been to NM twice on it. The only thing wrong with it is finding parts & accesories for it. Honda only made the model for two years, and there aren't many of them still around.

This is my fun !!!! So move to Alamo and get one of these and have a blast in the Lincoln National Forest.

Cathy, the kennel you put your dogs in when you were moving; did you like the place your dogs stayed? I don't like kennels but we may need one sometime and would like to find a reputable one.
You all please keep your fingers crossed that this flood plain mess on our house gets straightened out this coming week so we can close and get our hineys to the mountains.

Cheryl, no Chase Bank in Alamogordo that I know of......I have Wells-Fargo, and there are two of those here in town.
I didn't use a kennel on either end when I was moving. The dogsitters came here to the house! They're really great, but dang, are they ever expensive for me, because of the number. Never mind the vet bills.....I had no idea how reasonable mine were in Midland.... They are high as h*** here.
Good luck on getting the land mess cleared up. What a hassle.

Thanks Cathy.
For some reason I thought you used a kennel. It would be a blessing to find a dog sitter but I think pretty much the folks in timberon let there dogs run loose most of the time even when they're gone and with the bobcats around, my dog would try to play and I don't want to leave her alone.
Harry, you're gonna have to bring your bike to this area, along with Catman and we can all go riding.

I can think of no logical reason why anyone would purposely move to Alamogordo.

I can think of several logical reasons why I would purposely move to Alamogordo. Getting out of Tornado Alley is one...this spring has been exciting (and not in a good way) so far.

Try sunshine, 66°, 12% humidity, a light breeze blowing, a nice neighborhood with the Sacramento mountains in my face in the front....the San Andres out the back......little traffic, a great internet connection, good cable TV (and NO dish needed), the basic shopping, Cloudcroft, Mayhill, Timberon, Ruidoso, Las Cruces and El Paso only a few miles away.......and skiing in a good year at Ski Apache...an easy drive home to Texas...et al.
Top all that off with basically very nice and friendly people, unlike some who wander by this forum and have nothing better to do than make snide remarks....
