Default Anyone from Phx, Az move to N.M?

Hi all,
Just wondering if there are any ppl who lived in Phx who can advise us.
Looking to move possibly to N.M, but unsure where to?
Looking for a town similar to Buckeye or Casa Grande in Az, any place similar to any of these in N.M?
Also looking to try buy a decent home for under $125K.
We were looking at Las Cruces or Albq.
Prefer some place that has retail & warehouse employment opportunities.
Not too crowded or too hot-main reason why we moving out of Phx.
Any advice, much appreciated.
Thanx...

I lived and worked in Phoenix for a few years and if I had not had such a good
job I would have never put up with the very hot summers. I also lived in
Prescott for two years until the company I worked for folded so that brought
about the move to Phoenix.

I would say that Las Cruces would be more like southern AZ than would
Albuquerque. Las Cruces is about 100,000 population + or - at this time
but it is growing quite fast. Not quite as hot as Phoenix but it does get to
105 occasionally but I think it cools down more at night. The pay scales
are probably much lower over here or at least they were for me when I
checked in to it and there is much more poverty in this state than in AZ.
If you were here yesterday you could have experienced some of our
wonderful wind storms. I was in hurricane Isabel in North Carolina
and this came close to reminding me of it. The good news is it is
cheaper to live over here but Albuquerque and LC are pretty expensive
to buy a house.

Good luck on your research.

I lived in Phoenix for 2 summers... never again. It is 105+ nearly *every* day from June through August, and it "cools down" to only 85-90 at night. There is no place in NM that compares. But then again there is no place in NM that avgs 65-70 in Jan either...

I lived in Buckeye for @ 6 years. I can remember going to work at the Nuke plant and the temp reached 122 degrees. We pretty much had to stay inside all day. I don't think I could handle those temps anymore.
