Disturbing on so many levels, but the poor children that are forced to live their wacked out parents filthy and dangerous lifestyle is particularly sad.

It's NOT just northern NM. It's the entire state away from "civilized" communities. People who choose to live "off the grid" are more likely the kind who shout "property rights" at every imagined invasion on their "right to live as THEY please."

We're currently faced with another federal census, and one of the greatest fears of the census bureau is having their employees and volunteers shot (or worse) by some crazed "privacy rights" nut case.

They panhandle, steal, never pay a penny of taxes, and we want to "give them their privacy" from census workers? give me a break. As pointed out above, they have no problems using health care, etc.

Whoa there!! You misunderstood my words. No way did I say anything about giving anyone their privacy from census workers.

I was answering midwest liberal who asked about driving or have a local drive him out there in order to write a column. He asked if it were safe. My answer was in my humble opinion no, it would not be safe & that midwest liberal should give them their privacy.

Because those folks don't take kindly to those visitors.

LOL! Don't take the census ball & start running out of bounds with it on my account.

I am wondering if there is acreage there for sale or if there is some other catch. I personally would feel more comfortable living around mentally ill veterans than those considered stable Americans. Seem to me stable Americans who have never served their country lack in responsibility to their neighbors.
