Did everyone see this? It's a story about how higher gasoline prices have impacted Hobbs.

The Associated Press: High gasoline prices a boon for N.M. oil patch (broken link)

Yeap so is Artesia along with Hobbs. Also New Mexico's coffers are swelling because of the high price as we get royalties on the dollar amount of an barrel of oil and also on how may Rigs are drilling as higher oil means more drilling.

The downside pocketbook issues and tourism....look at poor T or C as they were telling me there that they are way down in numbers of people so far this summer.

I was so happy to read this article. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Youngest boy moved out to Hobbs 9 months ago, and is doing very well. He loves his new home and the people are so friendly. Was thinking about visiting him but he told me that I'd have a hard time getting a room because of the oil fellows. Well the way gas is in price I'd have to pass this year. Couldn't wait to forward the article to him. I'm also happy for Hobbs and hope that they have continued sucess.
