Alamogordo Posters, A Big Thank You
Hey, A big Thank You to all the posters that have been giving insight on Alamogordo.
The wife & I are planning a move to Alamo in the next year or so. (Retirement) I am now doing a total remodel of our home and
want to put it on the market in March or April of next year.
My daughter and I hope to be stopping in Alamo for a few days the 2nd week of Aug. As I am buying a motor home in TX and if it
checks out OK. I'll buy it and drive it back to the Seattle area, but with a stop over in Alamo.
So in my planning for this trip, what RV park would be the best place for us to stay at for a day or two, with no car? So I do a search
on city-data forum, NM and find a post "Alamogordo-HELP-Long Term RV Parks? (White Sands, Hope: housing, travel)" I found
just what I was looking for, White Sands Community Mobile Home and RV park. With the help of google search & earth I gave
them a call and in talking with them, I find out about the local bus service, with a stop a Wal-Mart. What a deal, just hope the motor home
turns out to be this good.
Thanks again for your time in posting........It helps......

J R...........White Sands community came to my mind before you even mentioned it as it is the best RV park in town in my opinion anyway. It's centrally located in town and has a Pool, Laundry Mat and Exercise/Game room there and Shade trees all round it and i'll see Sunbirds walking all thru out it in the evenings or early mornings when i've past thru it and as far as going to Wal Mart you can walk there as it's about .....300 yards away i'm guessing??
Anything else about Alamo or the surrounding area just ask away as someone will answer.

Glad to help!
What better way to get to know an area than to check out some of these questions that are posted!
I'm sure that Keith and I will be of more help when we actually get down to Alamo!

Incidentally, y'all, you can get a huge bundle of information from the Alamogordo Cahmber of Commerce by just telling them on line that you are interested in relocating. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend it.

Thanks 6/3. Sorry I did not get back sooner, been busy on the house, going to the dump a few times. Trying to get all outside stuff done while we have the good wx here.
I will be posting a question or two that is for sure.
Thanks
