Yeah ....well my luck i'll do 90 days in the county lockup because Pintada Kid told me to run naked in the forest .
I can see it now as i'm at the Western Bar and Cafe in Cloudcroft have a cold dark lager and all of a sudden i see people running naked in the forest....lol...lol...... must be that Ray Stevens song back in the 70's called ''The Streak''.
Some of these posters are good people but can make me laugh when they post on here ...

We can always tell law enforcement what we read on CD to do and let it go at that.
Hopefully, they'll have a sense of humor.

Make A Joke about being Naked
I would rather be a Live Naked Hiker then a Dead Chewed up one. Anyway its not fun when you run into a Hungry Scared wild animal out there in the Mountains. You dont have much time to think and when you do have an encounter with a Mountain Lion or a Bear and if you get away from him alive you never forget the experience and you will look at hiking and the Great Outdoors in a Different Perspective. A mountain lion or a Bear can take off with a little kid in his Mouth without a problem...... Take it from someone who has had a Few Encounters and Close Calls with wild animals in the mountains including Rattlesnakes and managed to live to tell about it. Im also working on Solving the Heberer Lorius case 1935. One of the Ten Greatest Unsolved Mysteries in the United States rivaling with the Lindbergh Baby and Amelia Earhart....... Im very sure i can solve it the State Police Investigators that know about the case think i have a good chance of solving this Great Mystery. Read my Website on Google. pintada kid @ webtv.net

Again just use some common sense on the trails and all and you'll be fine. Do you have any dogs?? I used to take my Black Labs with me when i went hiking as they not only loved that but they would defend me to the death if the situation ever arose. Agree with Jecc about carrying a weapon if you feel the need.
Again if other posters want to run naked in the forest then that's their perogative but since i've been visiting the mountains there in Cloudcroft/Ruidoso since i was a kid in the 70's i have never heard of such a thing nor has any Lincoln National Forest Ranger ever saiid that or told us such a thing.
Anyway Crazyme have fun and tell us about it when you get back home !!

Thanks! We had to switch the camping trip to next week, so if there is anyone out there with anymore good ideas of things to see/do, please let me know. But please no more discussion on the whole wild animals coming to get you! PK obviously has had some bad experiences, which is unfortunate but definately not the normal experience!

Here's a link listing all the different hiking/mountain biking trails in the mountains there (over 40 trails). I realise you don't know where most are as i don't either but it shows just how many different places there are to see and explore up there.

Jaws In New Mexico
I dont want to sound like the animals are out there ready to get you but the Logic from 20 to 50 years ago has or should have changed on Wild Animals. It doesnt take a Brain Surgeon to figure out the more land we take or food that is Scarce for these animals or homes that are Disappearing because of lots of Forest Fires and they are getting closer to humans and our fast food places in our towns im sure if we were hungry we would come to town to eat whatever we could find humans or whatever and if anyone feeds them because they want pics of these beautiful creatures who are we to know who these people are? I still say wear plenty of Wardrobe if you go hiking and DONT Smell like a Cheeseburger if you go Hiking it might save your Life regardless of what the Annie oakleys of this group think. The most hiking most of them have done is taking Fido or Fiffy for a Walk at the Mall in Cloudcroft. pintada kid at webtv.net

Can anyone give me a good place to get firewood--preferably cheap firewood? Somewhere in Cloudcroft or in Alamogordo or inbetween. Thanks!
