Default More Defense Monies For Holloman AFB

I'm posting this for us who are concerned about south central NM. Story in the paper about new monies to continue to upgrade Holloman especially with the F-22 Raptors coming in. That's good for the Air Force base and also construction jobs in the basin.

Bill would mean millions for Raptor, HAFB - Alamogordo Daily News

I know this is 4+ years old, but how has the base turned out. The moves in and out and new contracts are on hold.

Holloman is growing, as far as I know. There's a lot of training with the F22s & German Air Force, and, since that old news article was published the ROV programs, mostly involving Predator and Reaper drones, have become a big thing. Guys at Holloman are fighting from the air, remotely, in Afghanistan & Pakistan (and elsewhere, I'm sure).
I"ve been told, by an ROV pilot, that traditional stick-jockey's hate the ROVs, but that's the wave of the future. Not only less personal risk for pilots, but far, far, far cheaper than putting a man in a cockpit.
