Our kitchen is full of fresh roasted green chile from the Farmers Market this morning and have a good supply of freezer bags on hand. We bought some fresh, warm tortillas on the way home--what a feast we'll have for lunch.
The smell is heavenly!!!

Clairz, that sounds so good. How much did you pay for the chiles at the Farmers Market? Do you know how long they will be roasting? We are trying to plan our trip there but we can't come for a couple of weeks yet. (Work comes first darn it). We have several folks wanting us to bring chile back for them. I am trying to get a cost estimate for them.

We paid $24.00 for a bucket, roasting included; $14.00 for half a bucket. This is just the beginning of chile season here. As I recall from last year, we should have several more weeks to go. They had Big Jims (medium), Sandias (hot), Barkers XX (extra hot), and some mild type that was sold out.
I love going to our Farmers Market; everyone has on a smile and even more so when the chiles arrive.
Our car still smells like green chiles. It's the best perfume in the world. Seeing the goofy look on my husband's face when he smells it made me consider (just briefly) dabbing a little behind my ears.
