Then my advice to you is, don't read or respond to it unless you have something intelligent to say.

Song~I did some serious research on vinegaroons. Under the BEHAVIOR section, it didn't say anything about civility. See for yourself....

LOL...for the same reason that nobody talking about reincarnation ever says they were a cobbler's assistant, a chicken butcher or a streetsweeper in a past life...everybody was a Roman warrior General, Cleopatra, Catherine the Great, or an Indian chief. It's just more fun to imagine being those things.
There is a great deal to be learned about animal "totems" or whatever one likes to call them by reading up on Zuni Fetishism. They had and have a highly developed, centuries old system to address this.
Start with Zuni Fetishes by Frank Hamilton Cushing, a text written for the Bureau of American Ethnology. FHC lived with the Zuni from 1879 to 1884, the first Anthropologist documented to "go native" and participate in the culture being studied. I think there is a new and annotated version of this book being published but I haven't seen in personally. Some contemporary Zunis think of him as a wannabe, but the jury is still out. His info is interesting in any case, because it's the only info there is. The Zunis weren't writing this stuff down.
Any opinion on this, bigduly???
Most of the newer books focus on the great fetish carvers (stone and shell animals) of Zuni, but include information about the attributes of various animals along the way. Mark Bahti's Spirit in the Stone is good, as well as the books by Kent McManis.
For those with a personal spiritual bent, Zuni Fetishes by Hal Zina Bennet delves into the spiritual and meditative nature and possibilities of fetishes and, by extension, animal spirit guides.

I use to have crows around me, too. It seems to have disappeared now. I miss it. I always felt like they were trying to communicate something, but I never knew what. Crows are very intellegent animals, by the way. Could someone with Animal Speak look up crows for us? I got my mom a copy a few years ago, but she is in Wisconsin.

Have you read any Terry Prachet books (the Disc World series)? The streetsweeper in those books is this crazy monk who is brilliant and can control time. He chose to be a streetsweeper because no one ever notices a "sweeper" and they are allowed everywhere. Sorry about the aside, just thought it was funny...

What did you want to know about Crows specifically?
One thing is that Crows have been known to predict the weather.
Working with Crow medicine will help you see how the winds are going to blow into your life and how to adjust your life flights.
They are symbols of magic, creation and spiritual strength. They want us to look for opportunities to go with the magic of life and telling us about the creation and magic that is alive within our world and available to us all the time.
