How To Find An Arrowhead
The Trick to finding an Arrowhead is to find your first one. A ski pole with the round thingy at the bottom taken off makes a great hiking stick to flip over flint and to rustle the bushes in front of you for snakes and for killing Dangerous snakes and even for protection from a four footed or two footed animals. A walking stick can also be found out in the middle of nowhere sometimes you might feel like Moses out there in the Mountains with a big Old Walking stick but they help to take lots of weight off your legs while hiking and save you a lot of bending over and most important keep you from getting bit by a Rattler. P.S.>>>>>> People tell me that its impossible to find an arrowhead that they have all been found and i tell them ....... As long as it rains and the Ground moves and the wind blows it will always uncover Artifacts whether the Native American or Prehistoric type. I found a Beautiful Tomahawk out in the Mountainair N.M. area right next to hwy 60 over 30 years ago and i wasnt even looking for it. When i saw it the Tomahawk looked like a piece of steel buried in the Ground but when i uncovered it it was a Tomahawk or Axe from the indians of that area made of stone but it was dark and shiny like steel. pintada kid at webtv.net

To find an arrowhead - First find an archer, then find a long skinny arrow. The arrowhead is the pointy thing on one end.

Are there rules............
..................that pertain to what can be kept by an individual if they should find an artifact? Or does it matter what type of artifact? On who's land(state or private)? Presumably, everything is owned by someone, depending on what it is, where it is, or by governmental decree. A pretty broad question I'm sure, but what are the guidelines most would adhere to?

New Mexico Arrowheads
You cannot pick up Arrowheads on Indian Lands either. Most of my hiking places are on Private Land exploring and taking pics. One of the Ten Greatest Unsolved Mysteries in the United States the Heberer Lorius case 1935 which i Intend to Solve is on Private Land. pintada kid at webtv.net

I found a beautiful arrowhead on my family's land couple years back in the mountains of the Navajo Nation. Actually I just was looking at the ground climbing a very steep hill when I randomly came across it.

I found my first arrowhead near Tecolote when I was kid. I still remember the intense heat and the green Coleman thermos full of lemonade. We had the tailgate of the station wagon down. The tires had actually dislodged the arrowhead and it was just sitting there. We walked all over the place and found nothing; turns out it was right under my nose.
I still have the arrowhead, unless its illegal to have it, in which case I lost it while moving.

LOL trappedinNM!!! But yeah anyway I probably wouldn't want to find old artifacts like that, because who knows what kind of energy was associated with them. Call me superstitious. It's great though that other people are very interested in our past and find it upon themselves to find a piece of it for themselves

Arrowheads are There
I have a friend who was always bragging about this Arrowhead he found it was SO SMALL you could barely seen it. I found one also years later but it was a little bigger then the one he found but i Lost it they are so small they are hard to keep track off and you lose them. The Tire episode reminds me of what happen to me. Usually i end up find arrowheads close to my truck. I got off of my Truck in one Area and something told me to Sift the Dirt in front of my back tire i reached into the Dirt and sifted it and in my hand was a perfect Arrowhead i felt that i was meant to find it. pintada kid at webtv.net
