NMGuy, I think it was Albuq, Belen, and Corrales. Sorry, don't know specifically where they were shot though. I'll bet if you drove through Corrales though, you may be able to figure it out.
Is it out already? I was an extra in that movie so maybe I can be of help : ) I busted my knee unfortunately so I only made it to one shoot. The political rally was shot at Belen High school on the football field, and I know they shot the parades in Santa Fe. Not too sure of Albuquerque locations. Swing vote did have a myspace page for the extras telling us what to wear and when and where to show up. Dont know if its still up but its worth a shot if you want to know exact locations.
I just watched First Snow and I was thinking "that has got to ALbuquerque" Sure enough, some scenes are in Winrock, near Frontier, and on the freeway. lol. Kinda weird to recognize the city in the film...they even talk about Nob Hill.
The debate scene was filmed at the rodeo grounds here in Santa Fe. I couldn't make it, but they asked as many people as could show up to come and enjoy. Free food, but had to sit around for 12 hours, so I couldn't make it. After I saw the movie, I wished I had gone!
I really liked the movie, mainly because of excellent acting on Kevin Kostner's part, as well as the girl who played the roll of his daughter.
This film reminded me of "A Thousand Clowns", with Jason Robards. It came out in the mid 60's.
Hope this doesn't date me and tarnish what little reputation I have left.
