Default Los Alamos Neighborhoods

Hi,

We are considering a move to Los Alamos. We are a family of four and are wondering about where to live. We are looking for family friendly neighborhoods with no to low crime (relative to the rest of Los Alamos which we understand is no to low crime). For example, we have seen some very low priced homes on Walnut Street compared to other areas. Are there disadantasges to this neighborhood? We can deal with an older home, no canyon views, etc., but mainly would like to know if this is an area, or about other areas, where one would not recommend raising a family. Thanks for any insights folks might have.
