Default T or C

Hi,

We are new members here. We found this blog and very interesting to read more about T or C. We are thinking about relocating to T or C in the near future. We are living in California and would like to visit here before we make our final decision. Thank you for this blog for helping us to learn more about T or C.

We have a good sized population of californians here in T or C, these people have escaped the high cost of living and high taxes of cali., welcome.

Thanks for the information. How long have you been in T or C? What is the temperature like now in the evening? We would love to visit soon.

It's cooled off a bit now, about 70 degrees F. It will probably drop to 60 something tonite. ( we like it, hot and dry days, very cool nights ) and the winters are extremely mild. (little or no snow during the winter)
we've been here 3 1/2 years now, and live in a travel trailer, it's cheap, compared to housing. We have been in the same rv park for almost 2 years now, used to bounce from camp to camp living in our GMC conversion van, dry camping or boondocking as it's called. It was interesting.

In the past, we thought of relocating to Joplin, Mo., but after doing some research about the area, we decided we were better off staying here.

You realize of course this is a (podunk) town, and there isn't much here, but it is an ideal area to create your own entertainment and hobbies to keep yourselves busy.

Question Things to do in T or C

Hello gain,

Thank you so much for your speedy reply, we really appreciate your time. That's not bad at all, we like cool nights and don't mind hot days at all. Where would be the best deal to stay for a week or so, small motel would work for us, too. Beside the big lake, what else can we do while visiting? We did find the small motel called 'Rio Grande Motel' in Williamsburg, have you heard of this small motel? We just want to keep our budget at this time of the economy

Have a great night!

This post has nothing to do with T or C, or New mexico, but in Google News this morning, the Governor of California is said to be closing 80% of State Parks, another good reason to come to New Mexico

Schwarzenegger proposes closing 80 percent of California state parks - San Jose Mercury News

as many as 200 state parks will close (budget tightening)

Governor proposes deep cuts, with more to come

Red face Businesses holding their own after WalMart

December has already broken all sales records for the 4 seasons my place has been open, with lots of locals coming in for the very first time (no advertising! ). Yet ANOTHER auto parts store opened a few months ago (they build a brand new building, too!), local grocer Bullock's is still doing fine (IGA closing might have helped there). Spaceport America is under construction and got recent press in both Time magazine and Discover magazine. SCAC & CofC are thinking of a Sweetheart's event to marry couples on Valentine's Day since it falls on a Sunday in 2010 and courthouses won't be open. Th-th-th at's all folks! Have a money 2010 and a Happy New Year!

It is expected that with the drop in sales, that employee hours will be slashed. this will hurt some employees because this is the only job they have, and some a single mothers.
In a few more days into weeks, "time will tell" if the snow birds will return to T or C, or if the nationwide economic crunch is going to have an affect on travelers.
Tomorrow 08/29/2008, the Sierra county newspaper will be published, and I'll be posting more tidbits for readers to enjoy and scratch their heads over. we'll be right back after some messages.
