Yes, it is only in NM where we are united in our silliness. We think about silly things like heating houses, overpopulation and unwise uses of resources. The rest of the population can be proud that it does not do anything as unwise and silly as thinking about these silly issues.

I think it was a harmless comment.
I would have pasted a troll-doll photo earlier if it had been malicious.

Are you going to volunteer yourself and your family? For thinning, that is...

Uh . . . don't believe it despite the statistics. I was a legal secretary in Chicago and that salary is believable there, but not in Albuquerque. Husband is paid $20,000 under what he earned in Illinois and he's in computers. Salaries in Albuquerque are what they are elsewhere.

I think the average would be about $40,000 for a legal secretary.

"Salaries in Albuquerque are what they are elsewhere."
Should read Salaries aren't what they are elsewhere.

I live in central NM and the coldest it's been at my house is -3 and that was just this past winter and it was the overnight low. You must be in the mountains. If I lived in the mountains I'd go with a wood stove and not propane, personally. I live in a double-wide and use primarily propane; we spent about $350/month last winter. The winter before we used our woodstove with propane back up and spent about $100/month on propane and about $600 for the winter in wood. It was a draw.

Our First Snow is in October
In the Center of N.M. at the 6000 elevation we get our first Snow in October and our Last one usually the end of May. Most winters get lots of Wind and snow in the center of N.M. Albuquerque temps are usually 20 degrees warmer or more sometimes in the winter compared to some places in the center of N.M. Clines Corners not far away at 7200 elevation get about 5 to 10 degrees colder then the center of N.M. 15 below was the coldest it got last year but usually we do get down to 20 below and sometimes the temps will stay in the teens or colder in the day try staying warm on 100 dollars a month and 100 dollars of wood in those kinds of temps and when the wind blows it doesnt matter how much heat you turn on the wind seems to be Colder with all that ice. Ive kept my eyes out on the Weather for years and the TV Channel Weather People are way off in the Temps for the Center of N.M.and the wind and snow reporting. Which endangers lots of travelers between Albuquerque, Santa Fe to Roswell because they are not getting the True Weather for the Center of N.M. in the 6000 to 7000 elevations two very Critical Areas where people end up getting Stranded in Snowstorms and Blizzards and Sleeping in their Cars because they didnt realize how bad the Weather was. In Turn that Causes problems for the Locals in the Small towns who cant get get around town because of wall to wall semis and cars and the fuel and food is taken up by people who are surrounded by closed roads and bad weather. pintada kid at webtv.net

Willard is the center of NM. Not sure why he always says "center of New Mexico" instead of just Willard?
