Default Best Lodging in Carlsbad and Roswell, New Mexico

I'm traveling to Carlsbad and Roswell, New Mexico on business next month. What are the best hotels for these two locations? I've got the Holiday Inn Express booked for both cities but was wondering if there is anything better around.

Holiday Inn express is your best bet in Carlsbad - it's new and next to the "mall" There is also a best western - steven's inn, which is older but does have a restaurant and a pool. Don't expect too much in Carlsbad.

Roswell, I believe, has plenty of options. I'm not sure about the HI express there but it seems nice from the outside. There is also a fairfield inn (marriot chain) and a few other decent hotels there.

The Holiday Inn in Carlsbad is the best. We stayed there last winter when it was brand new. I've heard the Comfort Inn is ok also. The Steven's Inn would be a last resort. We stayed there one time during a visit and it was way overpriced for what it was.
