Default Dulce nm

Hey 6/3 and other New Mexicans..

I was speaking to a friend tonight and somehow we started to discuss secret bases, like the one Colorado.. and the one up in Mt. Olympia.. and then he started talking about some base in NM, in DULCE NM.. said there was a huge cavern system there and that he knew a guy that worked with the air force drilling tunnels. I told him if there were tunnels it was for missile silos or something. He was very serious about this, and said he wanted to go up there someday and try to find some proof. I never heard of this rumor, and started to look at stuff online.. but most of it seems like crazy talk.

I was wondering what you all thought about the rumors of a hidden military or even Military/alien base in Dulce NM.

I heard one reason for the Space Station in NM was because of this base and the support we have had with aliens.

I have no opinion.. I tend to think if there is anything, it could be a hidden military base, it could also be a station of last resort.. in case of a nuclear war or something.. who knows. What do you think NM?

I've read some of these "urban legends" about super secret "bases" up around Archuleta Mesa outside of Dulce. They supposedly operated during the 1960's and 1970's. Well, as far as I'm concerned, it's all a crock. I was up on Archuleta Mesa in the 1960's--lost on some backroads trying to go from Pagosa Jct., Colorado to Dulce. What we found was an isolated Jicarilla Apache fire lookout, with two friendly Apaches manning it. I absolutely doubt that they were Special Forces or CIA in disguise. They were quite amused that we found the lookout--this after miles of traveling on some really marginal roads, opening wire gates, etc. The only "civilization" we saw the whole way were some Herefords. That day I probably saw more of the area where the supposed "secret base" was than most any other non-Indian had in many years. I saw nothing "weird," I didn't disappear, and I wasn't detained for questioning by government agents or aliens. To be sure, that area at that time was one of most isolated places in the entire Rocky Mountain West--it was seldom seen by outsiders (which made it very cool, in my book); I'm sure that had something to do with the story getting started about the "secret base" thing. I've driven the "new" road between Pagosa Jct. (Gato) and Dulce numerous times since--that road follows the grade of narrow-gauge railroad that was abandoned in 1970--but I've always wanted to retrace that exploration I made back in the '60's. I suspect the Jicarillas probably wouldn't even allow that now--not because of otherworldly aliens, but because they don't want Anglo aliens wandering all over their land. I guess I can't blame them for that.
