Default Last Harvest of the Garden....

Goin to get cold tonight. So cut the one and only watermelon, about 20#'s or so, some Zucchini, cherry tomatoes, peppers..still some carrots in the ground, a couple sunflowers and other flowers.....gourds will have to fend for themselves....

Last of the Hummingbirds stopped by today and said see ya...

Gettin in the firewood and getting the house ready to move into...
whew....need another week of 75 deg weather.

gourds will be fine. Its best not to gather them until after a frost. What shape are you growing? Also have you thought about throwing a sheet over the vegs to keep the frost off? It will work if its not a hard frost.

Default covering the garden...

I do have a plastic tarp that I use, but, not that much left to cover...except one watermelon about 3 lbs...

I cover the herbs and rhubard for a while. But, I think we are due for a real cold one soon.


Gourds are just hanging around. Just the plain ole gourd shape..nothing exotic.

But next year..look out.. I will have time to go all out and will start more inside and get a jump.
