Does anyone remember Grants Truck Stop in or near Lupton NM in the 1970's
If anyone remembers a Grants Truck Stop that was in the area in the 1970's or maybe worked there I would love to have you take a look at something for me.
It is a Cold Case that I am looking into, it has been unsolved since 1976. I believe these people might have been at the Grants Truckstop in 1976 the man had a book of matches in his pocket from Grants.
The girl he was with was wearing 3 rings that could have been bought at Grants or somewhere nearby. I hope someone could look at these rings and see if they look familiar if they are something that was mad or sold in the area in 1976.
The case is a guy and a girl that were found killed and they have never been identified I would love to hear any and all tips thank you

Was the truckstop right in the Grants, Milan area? Lupton was farther to the west on 40(az-nm border). So many trading post and roadside markets out there.

Grants Truck Stop is in Lupton, AZ, about a mile from the NM border. I think there is also a native jewelry shop there. Been there a couple times but I don't know anything about a case. The thing about that type of jewelry is that it could be from anywhere in the Gallup area or surrounding towns (Zuni, Window Rock, etc). Very generic style that is widely manufactured there. You can even find a few shops in towns farther away like Shiprock, Farmington, Albuquerque, though they are fewer and farther between than they are in Gallup.

So the Grants Truckstop is STILL in business ? Does it have a NEW name, or is it still called Grants?
The unsolved case I am talking about actually is from South Carolina, that is were the Murders occured of 2 young people a male and female they were both found shot by the side of the road. The male had a book of matches in his pocket from a Grants Truck Stop. Apparently there were only 3 Grants at the time (1976) one in nebraska, New Mexico, and ummmm I think Idaho off the top of my head.....
I thought it was possible they might have been at the on in Lupton New Mexico because of the Native American rings she was wearing. I thought it was possible they were travelling the country it was the summer of 76 alot of bi-centinial celebrations were going on that summer.
I think he might have picked up the matches in Lupton and she might have bought the rings as souveniers.
However, the one ring looks older to me the one with the silver band. with 3 blue oval stones.
Someone has indicated that there is something special about that particular ring, Im not sure what?
Does anyone have anyknowlege of these rings enough to know if that ring is special in some way?

As far as I know, it is still called the Grants Truck Stop. To me it would be the most likely one because it is right on I-40, which leads straight to the Carolinas.

Gallup is 20 miles east of Lupton on I-40. Lupton isn't really a town, it's more of just a zip code. The truck stop is about the only thing there.
