... Affordable (60k-130k) housing in New Mexico! Is it too much to ask for? I spent about 4 hours reading posts, and I know a lot is subjective.

My husband and I are middle-age, with a 7 yo daughter. I want to be near a town with good education and opportunites, but outside of town enough that my husband can build a workshop. We like the outdoors, harleys and blues music, and GOOD food! I'm self-employed (just need high speed internet), and he is a pretty versatile maintenance technician.

One post I read said they've witnessed discrimination towards white kids -- any first hand knowledge about that? (NW NM) My daughter is “color blind” and I’d like to keep it that way.

Thanks in advance!

Well, there are plent of places you can check out for that! We (in Clayton) have a very good education system, i currently have a3 year old who is more than happy there, and ill be sending another in a couple of years. We have great food here, and a fair few bikers. We do get thousands of bikers come through here during the summer and did have a biker festival last year, though im not sure if its happening again this year.
Land is real cheap, between $500pa and $2000pa depending where you are looking. We are a small town of 2500 ppl but are only two hours from amarill and 1.5 from Trinidad CO. Check out my profile for the towns website, you can call me via our 1800 number there or our local number (it has an answering machine) and id be glad to send you relocation package.
