Schedule has just been posted

Before game
Traveling from the North train arrives at 5 pm/4:36 pm if coming from the South.

After game
Trains leave downtown ABQ shortly after buses arrive. 11:31 pm departure to Belen. 11:45 pm departure for 599.

Not sure why there's no travel to Santa Fe. I suspect this schedule will evolve as the kinks get worked out.

Default Rail Runner Service to New Mexico Bowl

For those heading to the New Mexico Bowl this Saturday (I've been three times and enjoyed each one), Rail Runner will be offering service to the game. Riders will take free shuttle to game from Lobo Platform.

Default Rail Runner to Santa Fe

Saturday we want to take the train up to Santa Fe. Is it a good trip? Are you within walking distance to any recreation? Restaurants? Has anyone here taken this trip? Any advise or tips?

Thank you, -EJ

It is a good trip...we've taken the Railrunner twice ( for fun, as our 4 year old LOVES trains ) once to SF and the other time down to Belen and back, we just stayed on the train both times, did not get off in either city.
If you take the train to the last SF stop, you are at the depot and there is a shuttle that goes to the plaza and capitol and city buses can take you to other locations.
In the immediate area of the station are several restaurants....Tomasita's, Flying Star, Railyard.
The Farmer's Market is also there, although I think it's better in the summer.

I'd buy my tickets online, in advance. It's a little cheaper.

I agree with Karma, but we have a 3 year old boy who also loves trains. Tickets are cheaper online, also if you live in the north part of the city it is easier to drive up to the Bernalillo station and park there.

It was a good ride, but we didn't take into account how cold it was up there and the wind chill. The wind cut you to the bone. I personally won't make that trip again until the spring or summer.

I'm glad you posted this advice.

Generally, there is a 5-10 degree temperature difference between
downtown Albuquerque and Santa Fe. It's possible to have some
weather move in that make the difference greater temporarily, but
chances are, if you were out walking around in the outdoors in
Albuquerque, you would have been almost as cold.

It's far enough away in time and distance that a check of the
weather is a good idea.
