Just saw "The Astronaut Farmer" and really liked it. Excellent story, acting, and use of NM's incredible landscapes.

Can anyone tell me where it was filmed? I know the diner is in Abq, but can't place the farm, the small town, or the location of the final scene.

Thanks in advance for any info.

When Mark Mathis and Diane Anderson Mathis was still doing their radio show they always talked about it being somewhere around Moriarty. They both had parts in the film I think.

Chap,

Thanks for doing the research and providing the info.

I live near the Santo Domingo Pueblo and can now put all the pieces of the final scene together.

There is an interview with someone from the film (director?) in the currrent "Reporter," the Santa Fe weekly. I think he/she mentions filming all over the state, including Moriarty.

Default An Astronaut Farmer filming location

The "Center Market" is in Espanola, NM. Interestingly, they pan closely in on the entrance of the store in order to not shoot the liquor store on the left, and the restaurant on the right...
