......about the biking; any and all bikes, trikes, scooters, etc. are welcome. bad attitudes, ride captains, egomania and other maladaptive b.s. is not. want to ride with a small, tight group of interesting people, such as those who've responded, to explore, appreciate, relish the grandeur that is the american southwest. will be flying into el paso in mid january to scope things out afresh. don't know if i'll have my mitt back yet or not. probably not.

if i have to move mountains with my bare hands i'll do it to relocate my clan in nm! i'll never give up, never! i'll be there soon, my mind is set, and i will not be denied!

so let's set this bugger up. establish routes, times, schedules and........let's ride...........................

Also don't forget to work your right arm all you can. At least massage it so the muscles won't go atrophy. Maybe walk your fingers up a wall and squeeze a rubber ball when able. Don't NOT do anything.

I was working on a Bike NM website for a while. Ill have a look for the files, think I may have lost them though. Only thing that stopped me working on it was my uncertainty of staying here.
We do need to work on routes.
Else Red River rally.
I know of a Poker run through NM, CO, OK, TX and Kansas. 300 miles and lots of fun apparently.
Ill be putting on a smaller one too I think / hope. Also depends if I hang around NM or not.
Who knows of others ?

Brutally, desperately cold in denver this a.m. set a record: 19* below zero!!!! still -13* @ 9:06a.m.! with one hand i can't accomplish much...like try to start my bike. Bummer. Typing coherently with one mitt is not easy either, but do-able. Slow and pedantic. How is the weather in southern NM? Fumbling around I managed to start our Outback and my F-150 about an hour ago. Both quite reluctant. Reinforces our resolve to ditch this frozen "tundra" ASAP! I've retreated to our finished basement so as not to annoy mama excessively. brought my bully-boy Beowulf with me. Not so bad down here; toasty-warm, got about 1/3 of my gym down here so I can work out at my leisure, one of our three computer stations occupies what was originally intended to be a bar, even got a nice furnished bedroom and a second kitchen to boot! Could be worse. Guess I'll camp-in down here today.

The hand does not hurt, despite the surgery, but I've a pain tolerance that's off the scale since I'm always being tortured by some injury, malady or debilitation...so this latest slice and dice "aint no shucks". I hate the confinment though and this godrotting cast. Can't exercise the wrist or hand at all but the shoulder and upper arm I can hit to some miniscule extent. Bet this 22 1/2" gun gets mighty skinny before I get past this repair

Tell me about the poker run Brian. It sounds like fun. Colorado has several of these as you might expect. Red River Rally? Enlighten me please! Hope you stay around so we can launch some sort of riding effort come Spring or thereabouts.

Red River Rally is late in May. Went last year and it was fantastic. Great ride around the "Enchanted Circle". Here some pics I took

Thousands there and lots of vendors for clothes and food and some good beer too. I am going in 2009 again.

I havent gone on the 5 State Poker Run but I intend to this year. The next 5 State Run will be held Saturday May 9th, 2009. Starts and ends in Guymon OK. They had about 3-4k riders and are expecting uppwards of 6k in 2009 aparently.
Did snap a few pics though.

They meet at DQ cause its handy for food and fuel in Clayton

As far as I can remember it was a chilly morning too.

I cant wait to do both in 2009

If I organise a run here I am not sure as to the route yet.

Nice pictures and a beautiful town.
I can see by the jackets that it's not too warm even in May.
I'd like to come to this rally. It's about 7 hours I think from where I'm at. We usually go to the one in Ruidoso since we've been here.
I can't ride a motorcycle until Feb. or March until my injury heals up some but after that, I'm ready.

That looks pretty cool, mostly Harley-hedz but I spy other scoots as well. About how many attended do you estimate? Looks like nice country as well. Will try to make this one in May. If we can converge on each other we need a plan of attack. Maybe a warm up ride too........

OOps, I see you posted ~3-4k warm bodies.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of bike do you ride Brian? I currently ride a semi custom VTX 1800C that has seen much modification. Like to pick up a Triumph Rocket 3 if I could free up some cash from my rental house. So big and ugly they are super-ill. Supercharged specimens turn out >230hp!!!! I really like all species of motorcycles. Can hardly wait to actually throw a leg over the new V-Max!!! ~200 PONIES RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!! So many sick rides out there these days. Can't get enuffffff!!!

Thousands attend. I couldnt put a number on it.
I ride a Kawassaki 454LTD and a kawasaki 750 LTD.
This is them

750 LTD in the foreground.

As you can see I like the classic bikes. Theyll run forever if you treat them right and they have a certain "class" about them IMHO. Would love to get a Honda Shadow and a Honda Goldwing (70's model) then my collection would be compelete.
