Hi everyone-

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the area is like around Menaul and Juan Tabo in Abq? There are places there for rent that have been available forever. It looks like it's close to Tramway.
Thanks!!

Ok, Menaul Blvd goes from west to east and has quite a bit of stores on there including the Coronado Shopping Center and cuts through I25, and Juan Tabo Blvd goes north to south and merges into Eubank Blvd and also has a lot of stores and shops and stuff and both are long Blvds and go through all kinds of areas from not so good to real nice, you just have to see them to find out. Juan cuts through I40 and goes down past Central Ave. There are apartments and houses especially off side streets on both Blvds. Both are more in the northeast part of ABQ but ABQ has grown so much north that it "seems" more in the southeast if you take in all of ABQ. I am not sure why the apartments are vacant, there are a lot in the area and school is out and many Univ. of NM students leave out but they will probably fill up as new students come to Univ. of NM. The Univ. is off Lomas Blvd south of Menaul. Both Blvds. are busy so I wouldn't recommend living right there off of them unless you don't mind traffic and noise. Hope This helps.

Kinda busy area !!

May I suggest either Montgomery NE, Commanche NE, Candalaria NE, or even some of the University area like Adams, Jefferson or Washington NE, or even Lead, Copper, Silver NE ? There are several smaller, older complexes in these areas & not so busy, but still close enough for all the "amenities."

I agree with Mollikins, the streets Mollikins mentioned are your best bet in that area. Lots of side streets off of these with lots of apartments too. Be sure to look toward the Paradise Hills area too. It will take awhile to see the area, it is pretty big so don't rush in and rent the first one you see, look around at many and then make a decision. If it was me, I'd ask any neighbors you see how they like living there, they will usually talk to you and that way, you get the real story and not just the manager's side which will always be on the sweet side. Notice if you hear any traffic noise in the apartment and out on any patio or balcony. My sister once rented an apartment in ABQ years ago and didn't take that into consideration and the semi trucks blasting through there all night would keep her awake, you don't want anywhere near I25 or I40.
