New Mexico in Focus: Tierra Wools
Just watched a really good New Mexico in Focus episode (#223). Anyhow, they profiled a great little company in Los Ojos, NM (between SF and Chama). They spin their own yarn, dye it, sell it as yarn or weave it into other goods. Anyhow, has anybody been up there? They offer weaving classes and all that good stuff.

Haven't been there but it sounds interesting.
I love these shows on PBS they put out about NM.
Thanks for sharing.

Cool. My wife is a super-dedicated knitter so she'll be all over this...

Yeah... they've replaced the feature episode with the new RailRunner episode (which is also good).

I've been up there ... several years ago. It's pretty remote, but really pretty country.
The yarn shop is a knitter's dream -- but quite pricey.
I only bought several skeins of yarn and have not used it yet - but I would love to go back there and buy more. Got to catch my husband in a weak and accomodating mood when he owes me one.

I would guess that the price comes in the form of hand-dyed products and locally sourced fleece.
