Default Is Grants safe?

The wife and I are comtemplating moving to NM from AZ and wondered if anyone in Grants can speak of the town and it's crime, etc. I have seen several reports and mentions of high-crime. Any truth to this?

All of the North Western part of the state, along with eastern Arizona and south western Colorado have quite a drinking problem.

Thanks. I had heard from others the same. Looks like Alamo is it. I have clients from Ruidoso to ABQ, Cuba, Dulce, and Farmington. I absolutely love Alamo!!

New here and registered to reply to this one.
I'm a former police officer who spent about 12 years in Grants and now live near Alamogordo.
The crime rate in Grants is pretty high, mostly property crimes and drug related things. Violent crime is not as bad.
Alamogordo has a pretty decent crime rate but violent crime rates seem to be a bit higher.

MTNCat/Kallista;

Many thanks for the input! (As well as others!)

Have since decided to stay on track with Alamo. Now if I could just sell my home in AZ...

Saringv....If you ever have any questions about Alamo or the area there feel free to ask. Good luck on your move to Alamogordo....
