So Dallas (that does not include Ft. Worth, or any other surrounding cities) by itself beats the whole state of NM. Have not even look at other cities the size of NM, Bet it would be more of the same for the most part.

so what is your point? Dallas has more murders than the state of NM? That dosent really surprise me too much, Im sure there are many people in the metro area that commit murders in Dallas that help those stats go up, but as you see Im comparing states with states and if you were to place NM in TX it would barely show up on the map.

That's what I've always heard it was. Since there are no mountains in Texas, most come to New Mexico to ski and people say they act like they own the place. Of course like most tourists, the locals like the money they bring but locals don't always love tourists a lot.

It's not the closest place--Ski Apache near Alto is.

They might resent Texans and other outsiders, but they REALLY are glad to take our money. The money from Texans is one reason why Ski Apache (and probably to a lesser extent Red River/Taos) can even stay open.

Coloradoans resent Texans, too, but they, like New Mexicans, are only too glad to take the money they bring. They love the infusion of tourist dollars, but some are all too willing to shoot the bird at Texans and other outsiders on the road.

Bite the hand that helps feed you to the max, LOL!! Taos Ski Valley, Red River, Sipapu and Ski Apache were ALL founded and developed by outsiders, not native New Mexicans.

People in Dallas area commit murder just to make the stats go up??? Well that says enough in it self doesn't it!!! Your using population of the state to derive your stats and to qualify your results that NM is a Dangerous place to live. Which in it self is ridicules!!!

OK, you tottally took what I said and twisted it all up.

I said that Im sure that some of the murders in the Dallas city limits are caused by people outside of the city limits, people from the metro are always in Dallas so crimes are also commited in Dallas while there are 1.2 million people in the city limits there are a couple million more in the metro area who frequent the city often. Do you understand what Im saying?

Im not even saying NM is a dangerous place cause Ive stated before that I feel really safe here, the stats I posted were just comparing states and their amount of murders and if you look at Washington with over 6million in population they only have a couple more murders than New Mexico with only 1.9 million people. Do you kinda get where Im coming from?

1. How can I twist your words when you have to rewrite the line to mean what you meant the first time!
2. You use your stats to defend the premise that NM is the third most dangerous state to live in, and then say " Im not even saying NM is a dangerous place cause Ive stated before that I feel really safe here,"
3. I was using a comparison to NM compared to a city the size of NM.
and you where "the stats I posted were just comparing states and their amount of murders and if you look at Washington with over 6million in population they only have a couple more murders than New Mexico with only 1.9 million people.," Which brings us back to your question "so what is your point? Dallas has more murders than the state of NM?"That is my point about stats to start with! There are liars, damn liars, and stats!
4. "Do you kinda get where Im coming from?"

Maybe but they're a lot closer to reality than opinions based on perceptions.

It would be interesting to see a further breakdown of just where the crimes are occurring. If most crime happens in a few hotspots and you're outside those areas statewide figures are pretty meaningless. You're probably safer in a safe area of NM than a dangerous area of NH, statistically speaking.

first of all a place can be dangerous without you feeling like your in danger and the rest im just gonna leave, it went over your head.

It appears as if cq press is trying to sell copy. Recently, crime has gone up in many states and cities due to the poor economic conditions, e.g., people being laid off or losing their jobs or having their hours cut. whenever you see a downturn in the economy, you will see a rise in crime. new mexico a dubious # 3, I doubt that seriously, sounds or appears like a biased opinion. never heard of cq press anyway.

Lainy is on a distinguished road
LOL....I was part of my family then as well so it wasn't just what they said. If I remember right it was mainly the big oil money and big money ranchers that came in and acted like they owned the place! I don't have any problems with Texans though....it was just an observation from long ago....

In fact you have a little Island down south where my parents now winter...I love the place! And love your shrimp!!
