you sure your talking about drunks and druggies and not about native americans in general cause it sure sounds to me like there is some racism here

I mean come on we have the navajos and the utes coming into our community. Why don't they(there tribes) build a rehab for these people? They have plenty of revenue from those casino's. Give these people an education start, early. What really ticked me off is when I worked at the youth shelter, these kids parents would drop them off sometimes for the weekend or sometimes for months while they went on there binges. And never call or visit and then just pop in and pick them up when and if they wanted. And thats if the law didn't get to these parents first. I think when these people get caught up in the system they should be made to take parenting classes, anger management,as well as drug/alcohol classes. Get to the root of the problem. Why are these people doing this to themselves? And ,yes I am posting in New Mexico because you all have the problem too especially in Shiprock and Gallup. We are always having to scrape these people of the pavement when they cause an accident or get hit walking into town for booze or whatever.

you know imo i think your right, tribes should be doing more to help their people, drug and alcohol is a huge problem. its a sad problem. why are they doing this? who knows, they are filled with dispair, depression and feel hopeless. there could be many reasons.

Are you kidding me? People have a choice in the way they want to live.
I've had more than a few drinks in my life and I don't choose to live like a 'victim'

Again I'll say, are you serious?
You need to get over the racism thing. For the record, I'm not racist and I don't see where you would get such a stupid idea from what I said.
I'm talking about the drunks as the original poster and everyone else is too. If it falls into the native american race, so be it.
Where did the racist thing come out of that??

Way to go Jaada! I feel exactly the same way. Glad to see someone feels the same way about it.

Yes,the drunks I am talking about are native american. I didn't want to say it at first but in fact that is what I was getting at. Didn't mean to upset everyone, just wanted to see how other people might view this problem.
