This movie is sure getting the full court press...lot's of promotion. I've been home up at nights and up early the last few days and have seen Denzel on (I think) every evening talk show, on a couple of the morning shows and seen Gary Oldman on one of the evening shows.

I don't often see a movie in a theater any more, but this one I will. I suspect my wife and I will be the only ones in our Tennessee theater looking for and enjoying familiar sights.

I don't watch TV, so wasn't aware that it was being heavily promoted. There are a few reviews in though, and most of them are negative. I will see it though and probably like it, since my expectations are low.

I think it looks pretty cool for a christian-themed movie.

Should be an interesting opening weekend! There are a bunch of folks going from Zozo Thursday night to Alamo for a special showing. This weekend they are having an unveiling of "Hollywood comes to Carrizozo" murals done by Rick Geary (remember spy-vs-spy?) and painted by locals followed by a big pot-luck. Should be a great time on 12th street, so anyone in the area come check it out!

We're also very happy in that General Distributors is opening up the new grocery store! It has been a long time coming but very soon Carrizozo will have a grocery store again! Also the folks at Valle Del Sol are moving ahead with their store/pharmacy/liquor complex, so things are looking up.

'Zozo grocery in sight - Ruidoso News
Good, glad to hear that things are going well! It was interesting to read the comments (Alamogordo Daily News) by Carrizozo locals on the filming of Eli! I might catch it at the local cinema here, since I haven't ever been. I imagine it's pretty nice.

Saw Denzel tonight on Letterman. He did not have too many good things to say about NM (in reality none). That is too bad!!

Does the scenery make the story worth watching?

It will to me as I know and love the area and love big sky, big views and big empty. But, it's country that's not for everyone...some describe it as harsh, barren, etc. And, given it's a "post-apocolyptic" movie, I'm sure they've done all they can to make look as harsh and barren as they can.
