We have some of the folks staying in Capitan and Ruidoso. It has surely been a boost to a weak economy here in Lincoln County.

I wonder if they are set up to work in this kind of wind? In a way they would probably be fine with it windy and dusty since it would fit with the theme, but 60mph gusts could be a hazard too.

Not yet, but then again keep pretty busy here at home. Thought about driving over today but the wind is high and don't feel like fighting with the gate!

I have several friends that have extended roles but I don't think they are stars.

You know, most of us would not care nor recognize them, nor be impressed by their status. The beauty of New Mexico

Default My Opinion on the Eli People

I would think that these people with their make up Artist could walk by you and you would never know who they were unless they told you. Denzel Washington probably hates our Spring Winds and having Conversations in the wind is not too cool. el pintada kid

I heard that they were filming yesterday, so I braved the winds and pedaled over to Carrizozo. They weren't filming, but I had a talk with a guy selling Eli T-shirts and mugs. He owns 4 of the buildings on that street, and is also an extra. He said that Denzel was very serious and didn't speak to anyone, but the other actors were friendly and joked around when they weren't shooting. The "work" was very boring with numerous run-throughs of a scene before they even try the first take, few breaks, and only $100/day. Of course many would have done it for free, including me.

Spectators can watch filming from the south end of the street. I'll probably head down there again with the telephoto lens. Filming is planned for today through Thurs, sun up to sun down.
