Default Best place for retirement

Interested in active over-55 communities. I understand there are some in Las Cruces. What about Silver City?

I know Anita will probably know this as she lives in Silver City but until then, you might check out silvercity.org a free site for Silver City Info.

Default Silver City home prices

Those homes in Silver City sound very affordable. Wondering what a new 3-bedroom home would sell for, only need about 1500 sq ft. How are housing starts in Silver City compared to Las Cruces?

Default New Adult Community in Bernalillo

If you're interested in Bernalillo, construction has begun on an adult community called Alegria, south of the junction of hwys 550 and 528. It consists of 376 homes on 80 acres. A 1,900 s.f. house goes for $285k.
Hope this helps.

What address did you send to for that relocation packet? I have written to the chamber of commerce/tourist bureau three times but never even get an answer. I used the email address on the Siver City org site. Did you ever get anything? azloafer

Check out Alegria in Bernalillo. I drove by there the other day and wow what a beautiful development!!!!!!!! There are several other active communities in and around the Albuquerque Metro area. In fact Del Webb (know for beautiful retirement communities in Phoenix area) will soon announce two major active adult communities in the ABQ Metro.
