Thoreau, which is about halfway between Grants and Gallup. We stayed for about a year, including thru the winter, at the KOA in Grants. The owners are excellent and they will make sure you are ok..etc.Plus it's not far to town, and there are 3 Grocery stores including Wal-mart. The area local restaurants are really good...i.e. First Street Cafe up by McDonalds, La Ventana, and Chile kicks on 66 + Dennys, etc.
The KOA in Gallup is ok...but a lot of transients are in the area...etc..
Curious, are you working in the mining area?
