I have spent many a night in Raton waiting for the highway crews to re-open the Interstate. Like 285 out of Vaughn, the crosswinds there can be real bad, especially in January. Thankfully, there are a lot of chain and mom and pop motels there, which is good because there are no motels in Maxwell, only a couple in Springer, and no motels in Wagon Mound. Argh!!
