The Checkered Butterfly Cloudcroft
Cloudcroft has a Checkered Butterfly that is only found in Cloudcroft at the 9000 ft elevation and its amazing because you cant find it anywhere in the World. Cloudcroft also has the Mexican Spotted Owl. el pintada kid

Time Magazine
Time Magazine i think had an Article on these Checkered Butterflies but the pic on here shows the Butterfly better and more beautiful. I would think that if they are in Cloudcroft they probably Drift south or down to Alamogordo a few miles away where its warmer. I wonder how much a Collector would pay for those Beautiful Butterflies? el pintada kid

PK, if they are only in Cloudcroft and no where else in the world, then they are endangered. I would try and make some extra money another way!

Sorry PK. I've seen a couple lately. I'm going to try to plant some milkweed this year to attract more. I don't think the deer eat that.

Wow. Gorgeous butterflies.
Don't plant milkweed, you will regret it if you do. It will take over your property, and your neighbors, and the next town. LOL
