Wow! How exciting! I can't wait to explore wineries in NM! It's fun to go winery hopping!
I don't really have a favorite grape varietal, but I tend to not like excessively dry and oakey stuff. Other than that, I'm pretty open. Never heard of chocolate or chile wine, and I have no idea if that refers to grape properties, or if it's added ingredients? Anyone?

Do any of these wineries have online sales? My guy is a native New Mexican, and a wine lover and I would love to surpise him with a bottle!

That link doesn't work. Here is a good one. You put the smiley face to close and it picks it up in the link!

I earlier said Blue Teal was in Deming. I'm wrong. It is in Lordsburg and the tasting room is in Mesilla. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but their reisling is very tasty, not dry and pleasantly flavored. It can be bought in the SF area at Albertsons as well as some of their other wines.

It's too hot. It's too windy. It's too dusty. It's too cold. There are too many druggies. Too many drugs. From reading these posts I would say these are the favorite wines of New Mexico.

My favorite Texas White is actually very inexpensive, especially at Sam's Club and Walmart. I just can't get it here, *snif*
This particular person I think took it just a little toooooo far.

Pistachios & New Mexico Wine | McGinn Family Pistachio Tree Ranch has a website. That's where I got my wine.

The chocolate diablo I bought is a grape wine with added chocolate.
Highdesertmutz can probably suggest buying some mad dog and adding chocolate to it. LOL
