Hi all, I was wondering if anyone out there in New Mexico could help me. My sister Doreen Claudio died in an auto accident in 1984. She left behind 3 sons whom I never met. I would dearly love to find them. Her maiden name was LaLonde. Much appreciated!

Agree with the P-Kid. Did she live here and where? Was she just travelling through? Where was the accident?

I would start searching in the town she had the accident. They shouldn't be that hard to find.
I wish you the best of luck on finding them.

Thanks to all who responded; she lived in Mesa, I believe it was. She was driving in the morning looking for a job when the sun blinded her and she tumbled over the cliffs. I was in Greece at the time so I never saw her funeral nor met her children. Their last name is Claudio, and her maiden name was LaLonde-Claudio. I'm going to have to try and find out more if I can -- it's hard because I divorced myself and a lot of my personal papers got destroyed.

Maybe look on classmates.com at the kids highschool and year you think they graduated. See if that name pops up. I've found a couple of old friends that way.

I would try calling or emailing the local paper in Mesa and see if they may have details. A local library in the area where she lived may have some details. Local papers have obituaries, however they were'nt computerized back then

The Social Security death index is available online. They list the last known zip code for the deceased person. That should help you get a locale to look for the (kids)most likely they are around that area somewhere unless they were exported to a guardian. Another idea would be to check in the county where she lived there must be a probate filing, especially where children were involved. Social security would have paid somebody $250 for reporting her death which most likely went to her estate to pay funeral expenses. There is a paper trail somewhere.

Default Mesas in N.M. and Arizona

There are plenty of places named Mesas there is Mesa N.M. north of Roswell without cliffs and there is a Mesa Arizona where there are plenty of winding turns and cliff not far from the New Mexico border on highway 60. el pintada kid
