Tucumcari's newspaper is the Quay County Sun and they are online. Am planning a trip there later on this Spring. I would think there would be a fair amount of rentals available. When I've called the area Chamber of Commerce, they have been very friendly and helpful on questions I've had, you might give them a try regarding possible real estate companies who are into the rental biz.

I lived there for a short time in the early 80's and liked it. STILL like it! Still thinking about relocating there a few years down the road. Welcome to city/data-best of luck!

Default Tucumcari New Mexico

Lots of nice people in Tucumcari. I would think there would be a few places that would rent to own just in case you decided to stay in the area. Sometimes these small towns have low income housing according to your income or city apartments. el pintada kid

You also might want to check out the weekly free paper at the 7/11's in town called the ''Thrifty Nickle'' as you usually see apts/studios/trailers advertised for rent in it.

I think I've seen that rag around here too. I have been to Tucumcari twice and found it to be a soulful little town. I enjoyed it!

I don't have any information to give you other than wind energy sounds like a very interesting subject to study.

I wish that they would do more wind studies here in Mo. I think that people would benefit from it greatly. A different source of energy. I have considered wind as opposed to using the general electric from the company when the rates keep going up. But the turbines prices are really high priced and the added expense of generators. If i had the cash I would put up a turbine, just to mess with Ameren Ue.

The school should be able to help with housing. Check with them. Good place to study wind generation. AFAIK it is flat all the way to Canada from there. Suggest looking the town up on google maps street view.

Nope. Open, but not flat. Still good windmill country.

> Suggest looking the town up on google maps street view.

I suggest google maps [Terrain] view after entering "Tucumcari, NM."

You'll start off seeing Tucumcari mountain to the South and mesas to
the North. It's not mountainous, but still a stunning Western scene.
Tucumcari Mountain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tucumcari Mountain photo

I've always found the drive in from TX on I-40 very interesting and dramatic.
Right after you enter NM, (after hundreds of miles of flatness and grass in
TX) you descend the side of a mesa and are in a transformed environment.

North of Tucumcari all the way to the CO border is open mesa country
until you see the mountainous ridge that divides CO from NM where there
are volcanos. Glimpses of Our National Monuments (Capulin Mountain)

After that, it's pretty wide open to Canada, but still not flat all the way.
Even Nebraska provides some relief. Chimney Rock

Finally, to get to Canada, you will have to navigate around the Black Hills of SD.

Default Tucumcari and Mountains

We must not Forget Conchas lake with all its Indian Writings and between Tucumcari and Las Vegas New Mexico it is very Beautiful Country with all kinds of Mesas and Mountains, Deep Canyons and interesting little towns. P.S. Tucumcari was named after an old Indian legend kind of like Romeo and Juliet. Tocom Cari and the Mesa Nearby. el pintada kid
