So I got home last night tired as all get out from the barn/stables and just vegged out in front of the TV a little while. Not really watchin', don't even remember the program
But then, this commercial came on. A huge RV motor coach, a family- grandpa, grandson, granddaughter sittin' at the RV dining table, mom is popping corn in the microwave, dad is drivin' the RV down this road. A beautiful desert looking area with some mountains, beautiful blue skies you can see out those huge RV windows. Mom takes the "Orville Reddenbauchers popcorn" out of the micro and pours it in a bowl on the table and.....then '5' hands were shown in the bowl, them sittin' down and munchin' away on the popcorn.....
The mom whips her head- looks at an 'empty' driver's seat of the RV and then looks at the people at the table eatin' the popcorn. ???
Next you see again the desolate two lane and beautiful blue skies and desert mountains Then dad looks at her- she looks at dad- and then they show a scene of the RV swervin' on down the desolate two lane road LOLOLOL SO funny!
I just busted out laughin' at this commercial! It was hysterically funny to me LOL
I'd swear this commercial was shot somewhere down around Alamogordo! It looked SO familiar. Has anyone else seen this funny funny commercial? (or am I begining to SEE New Mexico- "everywhere"?
This was simply too funny to me
Has anyone seen them shoot any commercials around there before? Wondered with all the filming going on.
Anyways.....
I haven't seen it, but there are lots of 'desolate two-lane roads' in NM. That's one of the things I like about it, after being stuck in the DFW Metroplex which now has 6.3 million people in it. Argghh! Get me outta here!
Catman, went to the BB tournament in Las Vegas last weekend. More people on the strip than I had seen in 3 years. Finding it makes me a little nervous and with a feeling of "needing to get out of here". Sounds like you and your wife need to hurry up and get to NM
But...but....Tia, there's nothing desolate around Alamogordo.......
I'll have to watch for the commercial, but given that I watch very little TV, my chances of catching it are almost nil, LOL!!!
Yer right.....my mistake LOL
I'll probably never see that commerical again myself LOL And I don't watch that much "network tv", and think it must have been on one of those type channels. You'll know it if you see it tho
Google Street View has once again been updated. There is a stretch of highway that runs to the most desolate border crossing in New Mexico, and arguably the entire stretch of Mexican border. It's called Antelope Wells. Google recently drove it. Here are some of the views:

That's all there is between the third world and our country.
Very cool Mike thanks! That's down in the bootheel, I've not been there (yet!) (I wonder if they were tweekin' that street view recently at google? It acted weird the other day, I left it alone )
I love the desolate roads, like ribbons across the land. The stars at night, the far vistas, storms in the distance miles away, clouds whippin' by, the blue blue robin's egg colored skies above, the reds of the earth, the mountains risin' up, the valleys dippin' low, all of it, ahhhh in New Mexico. Ooooops, I was day dreamin' of Heaven I think there for a minute LOL
I think CayD might be on to somethin' tho for the location of that commercial. 380 goin' W. towards I25 out there. Or 54 around Three Rivers, thing is at the moment I can't remember if that area has been widened (4 lanes?) already or not. I know and remember them working on some of it. I love that area very much
