TRUE.
Never heard of "wallet pop" or "CQ Press", so, who are these people I was so blissfully ignorant of 5 minutes ago?
I think someone started a thread awhile ago using at least one of these nutcase blogs or whatever it is.
When I think of dangerous, I think of California where 4 cops were recently slain.
Oh yeah, New Mexico is dangerous. If you're 4 wheelin' and you screw up, you can roll it, that's what I call, living on the edge of dangerous.

Typically found on AOL. A friend forwarded it to me. I never heard of NM being dangerous. Just curious where they gather their data for this assessment.

It's a boneheaded website. The purpose of the site I believe is to sell insurance.

If you want to believe that blog, then South Carolina is the third most dangerous place to live...
Wherever you are, just stand still for a year and you will either go up or down in the ratings.

I saw the list as well. Believe me this place is not that dangerous. And the South Carolina #3 ranking is absurd. I never realized that Charleston was the land of the gangsters.

NM has been in the top 10 most dangerous states lists(and Ive seen this on different websites so its not just the same people listing NM)for like the past 10 years now,Its based on per capita, NM is a rural state and has above average crime in pretty much all the state so my guess is that is where it comes from. I have seen alot of action myself in NM in my short life, most people never have so they think its the safest place on earth. Im a realist and while I do believe the rankings I also feel VERY safe here.
I doubt all the different people that compile those lists every year just wanna pick NM out of the bunch and give them a bad rep. If you notice its the states in the Southern part of the US every year in the top 10 and Im sure there is a reason for this like culture and upbringings, mentality, poverty and lack of good education im sure all play a factor.

Where does the "Gunshine State" (Florida) rank? It's gotta be worse there than in New Mexico.
