I came across this thread and will happily supply an update.

There are still 20-acre lots for sale in Deer Canyon Preserve of course. The current economic situation has slowed down sales and at this time you can get a really good deal on a beautiful piece of property. Same gorgeous New Mexican views, same wildilfe, same peace and quiet.
Helpful neighbors. It's rural (almost true wilderness) but Albequerque is only about 1 hour 20 minutes away.

Rain this past spring did some damage to the roads but that has been repaired.

This is a unique development with more restrictions than usual to keep property values "up", so you will pay more than typical to purchase in Deer Canyon Preserve. But it's worth a look; we can't wait to build there in the future.

So, how much are they going for now?

Poncho, that's always been there but they have gone below that pricing.

Helpful neighbors as long as you look and act JUST like they do. Remember though, that is the country and you cannot escape that fact.

About $115,000 - 165,000 now depending on the lot.

RRRanch - You're mistaken. This is a newer, large (1000's of acres), subdivision whereas people have immigrated from other states all over U.S. Now, there may be some people in town like that.
