Hmmm. Since it looks like New Mexico will gain a "Off Topic" chat thread.
I was thinking of a name. New Mexico is the Land of Enchantment so I was thinking:
Thread of Enchanting "off topic" chattin' maybe?

So in other words, chatting would be done on a chat thread .... and also on every other single thread on the site that gets off track?
No one will take the responsibility to keep their "chat" in a chat thread?
Then why have one?
Just asking.

I think the regular threads get off topic at times or off beat but we seem to get back on track. With a couple of exceptions, I don't see where it gets all that off topic and stays that way.
The chat thread would be whatever chatter anyone wants to talk about. They get silly mostly but we all need that every once in awhile.
My opinion anyway.

That's a great idea.
Still hoping this will stick.

Great proposition; I might even start blathering again to a limited extent, not that such a thing would be desirable I suppose. Your heart is always in the right place Song!

It's about time, welcome back.
I too recused myself of posting several times after run ins with other posters and mods. I refrain from going to the P&OC threads, only on occasion will I go there now.
We've missed you.

Perhaps I'll restrict myself to this thread, my friend mutz. Tempestuous events lately greatly truncate my time but I do love New Mexico dearly...more than I should perhaps. Life is way too short for negativity and "elective warfare"...even on such public forums as this. In the past week a friend has died and another has discovered she has stage four lung cancer. Reality bites in a very big way my friend.

Oh, I know about reality bites.
Years ago, one of my friends lost it while we were cycle riding, and that is perhaps what swayed my deciding not to cycle any longer. Witnessing someone on 2 wheels biting the dust really had an impact upon me. But, if I were going to choose how to go out, I would prefer that way, rather than a slowly progressing disease which is terminal. 2 wheels partying and close calls for me didn't help either.

Welcome back Draccy.
Sorry to hear about your bad week.
Anyway, we've missed you and hope you stick around and hope this thread sticks around.
Just got back from Alamogordo where the temp was 77 when we left and by the time we got home, Timberon is 60. What a change in temps.
