I lived in ABQ for one year .... it was almost 40 years ago .... and I still can remember those red Sandias every night just as if I saw them last night.

Wonderful memory.

Your picture brought it back.

Hmmm, the first time I was here was from January 1970 through July 1972 at which time my
Canadian then-pregnant, then-wife decided that we *HAD* to move to Canada before the kid was born.

I'd never been back at all until we moved here from Panama. Just *KNEW* it would work out and went for it.

YIKES! Maybe we passed on the street!

I was here from January to December 1970.

Hubby was stationed at Kirtland AFB and we lived in the southeast section of town on Chama St. which was mostly all military and I felt completely safe out walking my baby on those streets in his stroller -- now it is part of the ABQ "war zone."

I had my first Lotaburgers at the place on Louisiana and Gibson. Someone on another thread said that is the MOST unsafe Blake's in the city now.

OOOPS Sorry for hijacking the photo thread....your picture just brought back a lot of memories.

There will be a portable EMP device that can be aimed at the offending
vehicle that simply fries all the electronics in the car - especially the
radio/CD/MP3 player. You drive off leaving the 'bump car' wondering
who it was that "got" him. .... brings a smile to my face even now ...
You just hit on my number 1 complaint about living in Albuquerque (although I know this is an issue many...many places). I have excellent hearing. Every day, from time to time, I hear (and feel) the rumble of booming car stereos from nearly every room in my house. My wife usually doesn't even notice. Sometimes, when the rumble goes on for some time, I go outside to look, and I can't even see a car in sight. I'm blessed/cursed with the ability to hear and feel these things from 2 or 3 streets away. I've been thinking about the portable device for a few years now. I'll be first in line to buy one.
