Use the site search engine to look up the threads with Truth or Consequences or T or C in the title. There are a lot. Also try google Street View to take a drive around.

Went to TorC for a weekend trip last month. It is a funky town... low budget, lots of trailers... mostly retired people, a few hippies, freaks, etc. I liked it.
When fishing for advice like this, the first step is for you to ponder what is really important to *you* in a place, and let us know. Then we can give you much better advice.

Greetings From T or C NMB
I'm highdesertmutz, we, my wifey and I have lived in T or C for a bit over 3 years now. We relocated here from wisconsin, mainly due to my health issues.
I'll give you some links to T or C threads here, you can check the posts for yourself. You'll find pros and cons about T or C as with any other small town. T or C IS sort of a place where retirees come, life here is good and slower.
The city population is approximately 7,500. The elevation is high desert, about 4,200' above sea level. I have to tell you, some people suffer ill effects after relocating to a higher elevation. Some people with hypertension (high blood pressure have issues) such as nose bleeds, and blood being too thin. Some people may experience breathing problems, especially with COPD or asthma. Check with your doctor.
If you need to know anything about the city or areas surrounding T or C, just drop me a line, I'd be glad to help you as much as I can.

T or C New Mexico happenings.

Every once in awhile, I post jobs which are available locally. Lately, there have been none.

Here is another T or C thread. I tried some time back to get the two merged, but it never happened.

Good Luck!

NM Bound. Google Realtor.com. When you pull up the site, type in Truth Or Consequences, N.M. and you'll find 127 items for sale (I just checked it out a few minutes ago).
I don't get down there as often as I wish I could, but I love the southern part of the state. If you're into fishing, you hit the jackpot with Elephant Butte Reservoir. There is some great back country west of T or C in the Catron County area. You'll love New Mexico! Good luck to you!

T or C is a nice small town, with the small town feel. My wife will no longer post using my CD user name.

Double H - Are you planning on moving to NM in the future?
Mutz - Why doesn't wifey want to post using your name?

I think it's the other way around. Mutz doesn't want her posting under his name. Might do irrevocable harm to his reputation.

Earlier, I went to pick up her prescription and she saw the opening to type t or c sucks while the screen was on this thread. good thing I got back to edit it soon.
I told her she could move back into mommy's house if she wanted to.
can't understand it, she's still here.
She doesn't like it here that much. I'm not overly found of the city itself, but why drag it into the gutter?
When you're receiving only so much on a fixed income, you have to make the best of what you have.
That's why when the alamogordo buffalo daddy thread came up, I jumped all over that with all 4's.
I've lived in better places before, chicago is a beautiful place, but, this will suffice for now. and, it ain't all that bad, I know of much worse places to live.
I do love the area, mountains, valleys, canyons, rivers, forests, high desert, and the freedom to roam seemly meaningless about in the jeep.

My sig. other lurks on here but seldom posts.
When he does, it's usually in the auto/motorcycle section.
He's not as blunt as I am posting. He's much nicer.
He tells me I need to ignore the Newmommy/Buffalodaddy type posts and just let it be.
