Default Alamogordo

I am looking at a position in Alamogordo and looking at houses and property. I love rural living and am interested in a green lifestyle. What if anything is available in Alamogordo and the area.

Alamogordo is small but I wouldn't call it rural.
As far as living green, they do have places that recycle certain items but I'm still looking for one that will recycle glass and plastics.
Gardening seems to do well there also as you've got alot of sun.

How rural would you like? There are still some properties out along Rt 54 that are on well water and septic systems and you have to take your own garbage to the dump.
If that appeals to you, look out that way towards the Dog Canyon area.
You also might want to look in La Luz.

If you plan to work IN Alamogordo, I agree with TigerLily, in living closer to Dog Canyon or La Luz both will be about a 15-20 minute drive. There is deccent property you can invest in. Again, Dog Canyon is out a bit of the way and so Matt's Dad does the well thing, but you trash you handle yourself. It's not too bad of a small place. Sometimes it can be boring, but it is constantly expanding. About an hour from Las Cruces and El Paso, may I ask for what you are considering the move? The base is close by too and so is White Sands.
