I would agree with that (and most other wild animals as well), unless I were a rancher...and they were going after my lambs and such.

I was not even in the state when that event took place and know nothing about it. I read the article on the link posted above and it does not give much infromation about the event. HOWEVER... I mentioned the event in passing a NM native the other day and the person stated that the man completely deserved it. Again..I have no idea or opinion on the topic..maybe someone else knows more of the story and can fill us in.

this person said he completely deserved it?

i'm as big of an animal lover as just about anyone, but that is a load of crap.
this was an autistic man living alone in the mountains in a trailer.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I would never say he 'deserved' it. I doubt that it was a bobcat, but I guess it depends on how autistic the poor guy was.

it definitely wasn't a bobcat, but a 125-lb. mountain lion. check the links.

As I expected. Bobcats stay away from people if they can, and they're good at it. I'm still waiting to see one in the wild.

Great photos! Those look a little smaller than the ones I have seen in my backyard here in Florida. I am curious though, maybe someone will know this, all the ones I have seen here have short little bobbed tails, not the long ones as seen in these photos. Are there different species of these beautiful creatures, I mean to say, some have short tails, some long?
