Turkeys do not know how to come in from the rain.. Just butcher them early. We waited and got 34# turkeys dressed, and could not fit in the oven.
Chickens were easier, but we raised roasters..

Best advice I can give you is DON'T raise chickens and turkey together.
The pin feathers on the tail end of a turkey apparently look like food to chickens and they chase them around and peck them. What you end up with is a bunch of turkey with bloody, torn up tail ends. Not a pretty sight and rather painful to the turkey.

No, I don't raise turkeys and chickens together. But I am thinking of maybe gettin about 5 turkey to see how they do.
I am wondering what type of watering device works for them??
Seems they can drown in a thumble full of water??

Chicks are doing fine now about 1 week old and eating and drinking well. I change the "box" everday and also the water and sift out the crap out of the food....

Now planning on building the coop and getting the garden going.

Thanks for the advice.

HW....the old chicken farmer...back at it...maybe goin buy about 10 more....
