The 12th Annual Pork & Brew and New Mexico BBQ State Championship will return to the Santa Ana Star Center July 3rd – 5th. Bringing together the best barbecue vendors from around the region, this three-day festival featuring BBQ, beer, live music and interactive family activities will be one of the biggest events of the summer. Default Annual "Billy the Kid" Pageant in Old Lincoln

You can watch the "Last Escape of Billy the Kid" and explore Lincoln during Old Lincoln Days Aug. 7-9.

There are two current articles about this annual even that garners little attention outside of the immediate locale of Lincoln:

6:15-7:15 p.m.- Animal Opera

7:30-8:30 p.m.- Soul Divine

9- 10:30 p.m.- Taylor Dayne

National Headliner: TAYLOR DAYNE:

Taylor Dayne stands out as one of music's most dynamic artists. Her unique vocal style has earned her numerous best-selling gold and platinum albums, which produced seventeen Top 20 singles, among them number 1 hits such as "Tell It To My Heart", "Love Will Lead You Back" & "Prove Your Love". During the course of her career, she has sold more than 75 million albums and singles worldwide, garnered three GRAMMY nominations and appeared in many film, television and stage roles such as "Love Affair" & "Cold Case". A while ago the single mother took an extended break, as she dedicated herself to raising her two kids Levi and Astaria. However in 2008, she came back with her album "Satisfied” which enjoyed great success in the USA, immediately positioning its single "Beautiful" at Billboard's # 1 slot and producing two other top ten singles, "Over My Head" and "My Heart Can Change".

Soul Divine

Established in 1997, this collective group of musicians with credits that include James Brown, Lakeside, The Dazz Band, Sparx, and Lorenzo Antonio, and record label deals with Epic and Warner Bros., set the local scene on fire with its exciting brand of Latin and jazz-tinged R&B music. The band quickly established itself as the hottest ticket in the region. Over a two-decade period, Soul Divine has provided the soundtrack for a new generation of soul music lovers and created an emerging scene for R&B groups that followed. The original band consisting of Donny Tesso, Juan Mena, Jak, Frank Mirabal, and AB had not performed together since 2000, when front man AB left the group to sign a solo record deal with Warner Bros. Records. Soul Divine reunited the original members of the group in 2014 to perform for the first time since then. The SD20 Reunion Show generated so much buzz that the group decided to continue performing together for select shows. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform in front of our hometown on August 8th at Summerfest," said Donny Tesso, bassist for the group.

Animal Opera

Animal Opera, an Albuquerque group of local "all stars", rocked the NM desert with African dance music in the ear ly 90's. Back together after 20+ years, with the original core members intact, the band explores the various styles of African guitar/ vocal electric pop music (mbaqanga, chimurenga, sax jive, soukous, etc.) creating high energy groove music. Back in the day, opening for Thomas Mapfumo ("The Lion of Zimbabwe") and South African greats, Mahlathini & The Mahotella Queens among others, Animal Opera was a fixture on the local world beat dance scene, beloved by many. The "Animal Operators" are excited to be playing this incredible music together again.

Severo y Grupo Fuego

With the fusion of Mexican and Puerto Rican upbringings, Severo Y Grupo Fuego has had a successful career in the Latin music scene since 2005. They bring traditional Latin music to the public while incorporating their own influences to this music genre. The band includes 6 members and is made up of musicians from all over the United States and Latin America. Severo y Grupo Fuego has taken the art of recording and performing Latin music to a whole new level. Severo y Grupo Fuego will always make you get up and dance with their high-energy shows. Their pride, passion, and drive shine every minute they are on the stage.

Fun for Kids

Downtown Summerfest is a blast for the whole family! The kids' area is full of different activities for fun-seekers of all ages! Get your face painted however you'd like, get a temporary tattoo from an experienced henna artist, take a shot at climbing the giant rock wall, or bounce the night away in huge inflatables. All of these activities and more can be found for FREE at Downtown Summerfest.

Food & Drink

Delicious delicacies, sweet treats, and more can be found in the food court featuring more than 15 of Albuquerque's best, local food trucks. With food options ranging from roasted corn, tangy BBQ, and various Scottish options, to fresh fruit smoothies, Italian ice, kettle korn and more there is sure to be a scrumptious choice for everyone. Water and soda will be for sale by vendors. Beer will be available for purchase.

The Market

If you love shopping local and the look of hand-crafted goods, the artisan market is the place to be. Always a Summerfest favorite, this year's market is bringing jewelry, baked goods, t-shirts, bath products, and more. There will even be original hand painted incense, caricatures, and air plants. With over 25 booths, the possibilities are endless. Have your wallet on hand, as you'll want to buy everything in sight!

Ice Qube

Experience a little winter in the middle of Summerfest. Try your hand (or foot) at ice skating on a synthetic ice surface. The rink will be open for the duration of the event. Skate rental will be available for $3. It is free to participate if you have your own ice skates, skates with toe picks will not be permitted on the rink. This fun activity is fun for all ages.
