Random google street view:

clovis nm - Google Maps

Relative to Las Cruces, where I live, this looks like a foreign land. Pitched roofs, relatively tall trees, etc.

Default Photos of Clovis

Well, you can decide for yourself if you think Clovis looks like NM or TX. I have several albums of Clovis photos on CD that you can look at.

Parts of Clovis look more like Lubbock and Midland, to me, especially the newer construction.

rev_slappy is on a distinguished road
It's more New Mexico than Santa Fe or Truchas. There are more people from New England living in those places than Clovis. Santa Fe and Albuqueruque are more like Boston and New York than a New Mexican city like Clovis or Clayton or Farmington now. Even though Farmington might as well be in Utah.

Dont put Farmington down and say that it might as well belong in Utah.

I guess what he's saying is that NM is a big state and is many things with many regions and many different cultures, and not just the stereotypical pueblo architecture of Santa Fe.

But the people at Cannon AFB are from all over. I've never seen so many different license plates in a town, and these people live here. In Clovis.
