Default Clovis Nm or Clovis Tx, is there anything New mexican about that city??

After reading Clovis threads evreyones always says how Clovis is so Texan. Ive been there a couple of times and I have to agree it looks like Lubbock, Texas's little Brother lol. So is there anything in Clovis that is New Mexican?? To me everything is Texan there

Well we are 10 min from the Texas border..And most West Texas towns shop here..and most of us are from Texas or have most of the family there..All of our houses are texas styled.. Go to any store, restruant, or cruise any street here you will find almost half of the vehicles having Texas liscence plates..So i would say we are definitly more Texan.. Almost all College sport fans love the Texas tech Raiders or the Texas longhorns..Sorry UNM/NMSU.. But we do love our state of New Mexico!!!!

Yeah if you were to travel up to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or down to Las Cruces you would see and feel the difference right of way! Clovis doesnt have any adobe houses ( well maybe a couple older houses) But most houses are regular brick styled. But I guess thats what makes that state so different it has a lil bit if everything

the only things New Mexican about Clovis is that some of the residents eat red and green chile and its within the NM borders making it a NM town.

There are lots of TX plates in Clovis and its true most people are TX Tech or U of TX fans with a few Oklahoma fans in there and I dont recall ever meeting a UNM/NM State fan my whole life living there. I have friends back home who havent been to ABQ in over 10 years.

the landscape is TX, the neighborhoods look like TX,the houses, the yards, the fences, the people, the church culture, the food, and then you have the grain elevators, the cowboys, the dirty trucks, dairy's,farms, wind, tornadoes, mexican culture,African Americans, country dirt roads, you get the idea.

Portales has La Paz restaurant (located at Victor's Tires - superb beef tacos) and the famous El Rancho restaurant on US 70 which has "real" New Mexico style green chile and sopapillas. Other than that and a few adobe homes, the whole area does look kind of like Texas.
