For me it's the 3 hour drive from las cruces to albuquerque on I-25 as that is a long boring drive and you can't pick up any radio stations for half the trip.

That was my question too, I didn't think it took me that long the last time I went, of course we get off at the Edge of Texas and go through Magregor range. I have to admit when I went in March to pick up the inlaws from the airport I ended up taking the wrong way and almost went on Biggs, realized my mistake as I got up to the checkpoint area, luckily there was a turnaround, got turned around and found my way to the airport. I had just grabbed my parking lot ticket when my father inlaw called and said they had landed. Hubby told me they were doing construction but I guess I wasn't listening. I guess that's what I get for not paying attention to him.

The time we went out West, we found the most direct route from Santa Fe to San Antonio was US 285 from Santa Fe to Fort Stockton, Texas. However, with the exception of Roswell, (smelly) Artesia, and Carlsbad, US 285 was VERY boring - I think the only "town" there between Santa Fe and Roswell was Vaughn, and even that was pretty desolate.

For that distinction, I'd say I-10 pretty much gets that award, between LC and Anthony, maybe because I've driven it so many times. I-25 from Las Vegas up to Wagon Mound is pretty tough to take as well.

I love the drive through WSMR, especially towards sunset. The mountains look fabulous and there are few things that beat the view of Las Cruces when you crest the top of the pass and start back down.
I do agree, the drive from LC to El Paso isn't all that interesting, unless, of course, you like cows or want to stop at the outlet

I'm disapointed my favorite radio station out of ruidoso 101.5 classic 70's/80's rock that i listen to daily in alamogordo cannot be pickup at around Oliver Lee state park (10 miles south of alamo) but from there i listen to KLAQ 95.5 Rock out of el paso so that gives me some tunes when i travel between alamo and el paso .

I'm not giving you a hard time Mike .......but i agree with TigerLily as i really like the drive between alamogordo and las cruces as both the organs and sacramento mountain ranges are really nice to see during the drive.

I-10 from LC west to the State line....long, flat, only relieved by a winery or two where one can stop to rehydrate This stretch will bore ya to tears, but then the rock formations at Texas Canyon in AZ look sooo cool after all that monotony.

IMHO, there is nothing boring about the drive from Alamogordo to EP. You see the mountains on both sides quite a bit of the way, and when the yuccas are all in bloom, it's nice. I love the drive all the way from Alamgordo to EP to West Texas/Van Horn/Fort Stockton on I-10.
You want a boring drive, try the one from Roswell to Artesia, Artesia to Carlsbad, Carlsbad to Hobbs, Tucumcari to ABQ, Carlsbad to Vaughn or Clovis to ABQ.

My top 3:
1. Santa Fe to Las Cruces (Mostly because I have just done it so many times)
2. Las Vegas to Springer
3. Albuquerque to the Texas border
