Has the economy charged your food buying habits..
Do you now pass up things that you like that maybe cost more than your budget allows.
Have you changed where you shop and or changed how you plan your monthly food budget?
I know we have stopped buying some items we like to help with the overall budget and cope with other raising costs...like...GAS....DOCTOR BILLS, AND DO NOT HAVE A TV AND WILL NOT GET ONE.....
Happy trails...

I'm more careful than I used to be. I don't eat steaks nearly as often and eat out less. It may be better for me not to. The economy would recover quickly if we could all go out and buy all the stuff we want, but we can't.

I think we're more aware of food costs than we were a couple years ago, but our
food purchases haven't changed all that much. What has actually changed
because of rising food prices is that we tend to eat out a bit more. I love Chinese
so if it's only going to cost a couple bucks more to avoid cooking at home, we
often do so.

We don't eat out at all, of course since the 8 yr old and I both tend to get upset stomachs it works out. We very rarely eat red meat, but I started changing that about a year ago, we eat alot of turkey and chicken. When we do eat red meat I get sick to my stomach so it works for me.

I've been on a budget for a couple decades anyway but even more so lately. I coupon clip a lot and always look for bargains at the grocery store. I stop at the bakery thrift store once a week, and have cut the eating out in half. Had to.

I don't know that it is the economy so much as food prices in general. When prices started going up a couple years back, I just stopped buying things unless they are on sale (frozen foods and snack stuff mostly).
I try to stock up on things I use regularly when they are on sale so I get a little ahead that way.
And I make a point of knowing where certain items are always less expensive, so some things I get at the supermarket, some at WalMart, some at Target and so on.
I think I plan my shopping trips more than I used to so that I don't waste gas driving around. I used to not think anything of just jumping in the car and running out for a couple of things. Now I map out my route so that I pass all of the stores I want to stop in along the way.

Had to add I clip coupons, and try to price match, we are limited here in Alamo since we only have Walmart and Lowes to shop at, Lowes usually has pretty good sales like this week they have a gallon of milk for $1.50. I also use alot of store brands and for the most part they taste the same. About the only thing I won't do store brand is my Lipton tea and my Maxwell House coffee.
